Music Theory Exam Preparation
Course Content
Students will be prepared for the first round of Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB) and the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) Theory Examinations in 2009.
Courses are suitable to support students taking music classes at school. Musica Lingua courses will be of particular assistance to students commencing music classes at school for the first time in year 11 or 12.
Courses from Grade 1 through to Grade 5 are offered.
The content of the AMEB and ABRSM Syllabi will be thoroughly covered in a rounded way with the emphasis on:
- Enjoyment.
- Learning through performance alone and in the group.
- Learning to 'hear' what is written.
- Learning to write what is heard.
- Improvisation.
- Creating original music.
Students sitting for practical exams will also benefit from the emphasis on aural and sight reading skills.
